Winter activities in Obergurgl
There is plenty going on away from the slopes in Obergurgl and Hochgurgl. The sun-kissed cross-country ski track, which also serves as a winter walking track, starts directly in front of the Hotel Jagdhof. A toboggan run and an ice rink are also within easy reach. Cross-country skiing
Just one step and you are in the middle of cross-country skiing fun. The Hotel Jagdhof in Obergurgl is the perfect starting point for your cross-country skiing holiday in Tyrol. Two practice tracks, each 2 km long, are available to you. Advanced skiers can venture onto the 7 km Pill-Angern-Poschach high altitude track. Thanks to the altitude, the tracks are virtually snow-sure. All tracks are suitable for both classic and skating techniques.
Winter hiking
The cross-country tracks also serve as winter-hiking routes. Your hike starts on the doorstep of the Hotel Jagdhof. With crystal clear air in your lungs and the view of snow-covered peaks a sunny winter walk is balm for both body and soul. The winter hiking route takes you to the centre of Obergurgl. From there you are able to reach a number of huts, such as the Zirben Alm or the Schönwieshütte on foot.

Ice skating, curling or a game of ice-hockey – the ice rink in Obergurgl is a well-loved place for both young and old. The ice rink is not only open during the day, but is floodlit and therefore also available in the evening. In the atmospheric sports bar “iceberg”, directly adjacent to the ice rink, you can hire equipment such as ice skates and enjoy both hot and cold drinks.
